Fishing in Jamaica

Fishing in Jamaica is a very popular and celebrated sports. From charter boats from around the island or even the use of private yachts from the Americas, the sport is enjoyed to its fullest. Jamaica actually participates in and hosts major fishing events such as contests and tournaments. These events are occur at a local, regional, and international level and includes events such as the well celebrated Port Antonio International Tournament or the prestigious Jamaica International Fishing Tournament. For those interested in these events, they usually take place between September and October annually.

One unique thing about fishing in Jamaica is that it is done at sea and at rivers. We boast a variety of fishes from the very small to the very large 400-pound or more. You can catch fishes such as blue marlins, king-fish, sail-fish, snooks, snappers, barracuda and many more.

Prices may range from US$100 to US$1500 depending on the charter company you choose and the package you agreed at.
